From time to time.... who am I kidding, there is constant bantering back and forth about politics in our quaint little group. Sometimes it gets downright ugly! Right here you can witness first hand some of the bashing in person!

I may at times sound like one that has a hopelessly pessimistic view of our nation and especially our Federal government, but the reality is, it's not quite too late to turn this ship around. There is not alot of time left, but with good leadership and responsible government it is possible to reverse the financial issues we have had thrust upon us by those in our government with socialist ideas.

First of all, we need to realize what socialism is, an what it is not. Socialism on the surface sounds like a very equitable system of laws and government that has passion for the people, It portends to provide an even playing field for all citizens. On the contrary socialism is a collection of rules and laws that are actually designed to entrap those in poverty into essentially permanent lower class. Consider generational and perpetual membership in the class that requires social services. While it is certainly laudible that our government has such noble ideas about helping the poor. The reality, is that the entrap these same people into a lifetime of economic chaos. Even worse, their children wind up in the same boat.

No one is saying that sometimes people need a temporary hand through difficult times such as job loss, divorce, crisis, death and a variety of other issues. But this kind of help should be if anything very temporary, and the road out of it, should not be paved with gotcha's.

Further, I would argue that the benefactor of default should not be the govenment. It should be savings, then family, then faith based programs, and then perhaps, the government. We the government be the savior of last resort, more money would be available in general society to voluntarily, through charity  distribute money such as this.

I'd argue, based on how generous conservatives are, that the actual help would be far more significant.

Now, let me get back on point; I believe that if we took just a few of the following steps we could recover jobs. In future blogs I will lay out why I think each of these points is not just necessary, but that without them we are on a self imploding spiral, that is going to lead to more then short term recession, without them, I think we are in for long term depression and potientially generational poverty, on mass scale, I am not grandstanding when I view our economy, how short a distance it is from the Ivory home, to the trailer. How close it can be going from world superpower, to third world poverty. We need to step carefully.

  1. One year freeze coorporate income tax.
  2. Capital Gains tax to zero
  3. Eliminate the IRS
  4. Create a national sales tax, across the board, no exemptions, deductions, of 12% for one year, to be increased to 15% after the first year.
  5. All non-retired persons retirement age immediately raised to 70 years old
  6. All social security recipients immediate get an annual decrease of 1% in benefits for 30 years.
  7. All citizens are required to save privately starting with 5% of their income an amount increased annually by 1% to reach 35% of savings by retirement. This will be a  persons priniciple source of retirement income. Nothing in this precludes saving extra or retiring later.
  8. Social security to eventually be phased out.
  9. Medicare and Medicaid to be eventually eliminated. (I'll explain this in a later article.
  10. Carbon based cap and trade should be put to a rest finally.
  11. Develop a plan to eventually have private patients pay their own medical expenses.
  12. Repeal the following departments
    1. Department of Education
    2. Internal Revenue Service
    3. AMTRAK
    4. Scale back the EPA
    5. Scale back the Bureigh of Prisons. Only arrest for violence (the ten commandments is all we really need)
    6. NIH
    7. BATF
    8. Combine the FBI and the CIA
    9. Combine the phase out of Social Security and Medicare
    10. Department of Agriculture
    11. FDA reduction.

Speaking of that last one, Barack Obama made a comment the other day about how disastrous it would be to eliminate meat inspectors. Well, that is dumb, a company doesn't survive long if it provides dangerous products, competition between meat that makes you sick vs that the doesn't is a no brainer.

I am getting tired, it's Sunday, and I need to do some other stuff so I'll talk more on this subject later.
